On top of this I still had my bad self-esteem and a foul mood. / And no matter how much they told me and I kept telling myself that “don’t mind about it” and “you’re worrying too much” I simply couldn’t get over it without the right state of mind. //

Tällä kertaa ei ole sarjispäiviksiä, mutta olen yhen irlantilaisen kaverini kanssa alottanu tällasen piirrustuskoulun. Eli jossain kohtaa piirrettiin päivittäin erilaisia harjotuksia siitä, missä ollaan huonoja tai muutenvaan parantaaksemme kykyjämme. Nyt tää on jääny tauolle Saattajan tiukan deadlinen vuoksi, mutta voisin nyt tässä välissä näyttää jotain tekeleitä…

//This time I don’t have comics to update with, but with my Irish friend I’ve started this art school. So at some point we would draw daily different sorts of exercises on things we are bad at or just want to better ourselves at. It has paused for a while due to the Escorter’s tight deadline, but here’s something I’ve done…//

Luotiin hahmo “muotojen” pohjalta tällaista tutoriaalia hyödyntäen.

//We created a character out of shapes, with this(tällaista) tutorial.//

Tässä otimme mallia maisemakuvasta, mutta teimme siitä omanlaisemme maiseman. Aikaa oli puoli tuntia. Kuva ei ole minun ottamani, löysin guuglesta.

//In this one we took a landscape photo as reference to draw our own. We had 30 minutes to do this. The picture is not taken by me, I found it from Google.//

Ja toinen maisemaharjoitus. Tässä oli aikaa 45 minuuttia.

//And another landscape excercise. In this we had 45 mniutes of time.//

Lintuharjoitus in other words, Chocobos. Oikeastaan vain huvin vuoksi, mutta myös harjoitus anatomiasta.

COMING SOON

Kuten näette, olen alkanut jo tussaamaan Saattajan uusia sivuja ja päätin heittää tänne ensimmäisen “teaserin”. Kaikki sivut on jo tosiaan luonnosteltu, sekosin jo laskuissani, mutta niitä on jotain lähemmäs 40. Ja teksteihin oli pakko keksiä jotain ja minähän tiedän, kuinka kukaan ei jaksa odottaa tätä uutta julkaisua WINK WINK

Ja pientä infoa niille, jotka jo omistavat alkuperäisen Saattajan, nimittäin tässä uudessa painoksessa tulee olemaan uusien sivujen lisäksi vähän EXTRAA. Mitä se on, sen saatte tietää, kunhan olen vielä suunnitellut sen kunnolla ;)

//COMING SOON / As you can see I’ve started inking the new pages of  the Escorter and I decided to throw the first “teaser” in. All the pages have been sketched and I lost count, but there’s nearly 40 of them. I had to add something to the text fields there and I know how you can’t wait for this new publish WINK WINK / And a little info to those, who already own the original copy, since there’s also going to be a little EXTRA. What it is, I’ll let you know when I’ve finished the plans for it //

No huh, sainpahan päivitettyä. Tämäkin sarjis ollut jo ainakin kaksi viikkoa vihossa. Minusta on tullut siis laiskempi skannaamaan kuin päivittämään :B

Anygays, Saattaja ja koulu vievät tosiaan suurimman osan ajastani (jälleen kerran), joten päivittely täällä tulee olemaan vähäistä (töitäki pitäis ettiä!) Mutta on mulla jotain, mitä pitäis vielä tännekki piirtää, että yritetään~

So I’ve become lazier to scan rather than draw. / Anyways, The Escorter and school are consuming most of my time (yet again), so updating will be lesser (I should look for a job too!) Päätin nyt jotain tännekin toimittaa, kun on ollut viime viikkoina aika hiljaista. On käynyt mielessä päivittää, mutta kouluhommat ja muu ovat olleet aika etusijalla niin on valitettavasti jäänyt vähemmälle. Toivotaan nyt, että se tästä hiukan hellittää…

//Phew. Once again I’m sorry for the not-so-frequent updates, but I’ve been a bit busy lately and still am. / On top of the tight scheduled schoolwork I’ve had to plan the republishing of the Escorter so the pages etc. / Oh by the way! So I went to meet one of the guys from Seitti so we could go through the material I had, which wasn’t much.. “I’m no good…” / Luckily Janne was very understanding “Looking good. And you don’t need to change it all that much. Don’t take any pressure”//

//Through this encouragement I managed to plan in total of 13 pages in the train on my way to Tampere and a couple more later. So I’m starting to reach the end on planning and according to my math the new Escorter will have at least 10 pages more to it/ My plans are at such a good spot I dare to say this comic might make it to the Tampere Kulpii(a Finnish comic festival)! Unless of course there would be some unpredictable delays… / On a sidenote here I’m taking part in Team Pärvelö’s (a Finnish group of comic artists) anthology called Gaijin, which will also be sold in Kuplii! / Oh! And someone made this review podcast thingie about the Escorter. This guy makes also other good comic involving podcasts so check it out! Link to the one about the Escorter is under this page.//

//How do you sell so good?/ The Escorter was sold out in the last convention so unfortunately I can’t sell anymore copies/ But the comic is on smackjeeves in English, so I linked it to the side of this page, because the blog version was tough to read/ And yes there’ll be the republished version, but that will propably come out at the next Helsinki’s comic festival, though it’s not yet certain…//

//A small publishing group called Seitti (Web/Cobweb) contacted me via email. They said they liked my stuff and wanted some publishing material. / They could for instance publish the existing Escorter, which would be great! But I agree that it needs little changes. / I just feel like a little girl. It’s hard to imagine that my work is actually going to be published. Somehow I just don’t feel it’s possible…/ But I guess I just have to dare to make that big step…//

Tai tuo “pienkustannuyhtiö” lienee jo hiukan virheellinen, kun ainakin sanoivat olevansa jo enemmän isolla puolen esimerkiksi sarjisfestareilla. My bad.
